Re: 2015 Convention Hotels

Thanks Dave, but I need to know which overflow hotel that Convention registrants are actually being booked into. As I said, my friend has had no response from the obvious source .....

2015 Convention Hotels

Whoops, year correction! Please, does anyone know which overflow hotel is being used. A friend has had no response from the obvious source, and he needs to know which one it is within the next ten days.

Re: Quisling: constructing 16 feet of modular railroad

Thank you both, much appreciated. I wish the Conrad had been around earlier when I was installing Tortoises en mass, especially those where I had to add cable extensions to because the Tortoises fouled the L-girder!

Re: Quisling: constructing 16 feet of modular railroad

Hi Brian I'm intrigued by these Conrad switch machines, and they are so cheap! I've seen Conrad's web site at http://www.conrad-electronic.co.uk/ce/en/product/219998/ and its picture but there is no indication of how the machine is connected to the turnout when underneath. Is the tab bolted to the d...

Re: Balboa Drive Train Headache

Hi maineu18b(??)

Suggestions:
1. Use thicker-walled stiffer silicon tubing (Branchline 1.9 mm should fit both shafts).
2. Can worm-shaft be turned easily by hand? If not then correct this.
3. Use NWSL 2.00mm (plus 2.4 mm adaptors) Universal coupler set item #482-6.

Cheers

Re: Convention outing to Swanage

Bus number 50 from the railway station on Saturdays at 08.58, 09.38 and then hourly at xx.38 to Swanage bus station. Return at xx.25, takes 62 minutes. See http://www.morebus.co.uk/service.shtml?serviceid=1563 . "Transport Direct" has got it wrong re the starting point. I rather fancy an e...

Re: Paint decanting

Thank you Koos and Dan I've only used pippettes for thinners so far but as suggested I will try them for paints as well - hopefully easy to clean! A particularly nice Pippette I use with built in "sucker" is at: http://www.air-craft.net/acatalog/Transfer-Pipette.html 98p each "2ml gra...

Re: Paint decanting

Thank you, Brian. It's reassuring that I am going about things in the best way - I shall just have to be a bit steadier in pouring paint from paint jars!

Paint decanting

Having just onto air brushing buildings, using acrylic paints, what do members tend to use when they decant paints for mixing and spraying? It's a messy business at the moment!
