Re: Wooden laser-cut Depot

Excellent work Brian - expect you are very pleased with the result; I certainly was after I had recently put together the smaller American Model Builders Standard Depot, that had also been gathering dust for a while. Being my first wooden laser cut kit meant initially progress was slow whilst worki...

Re: Wooden laser-cut Depot

Hi Brian That looks really good, I hope my type 22 looks as fine when I've built it. You've got me stumped as to where Quisling is on the SP. Rai Thanks, boys. The name is, as you will be aware, Mr Fenton, fictitious. I needed a name of some sort, as it will be on the 16' of modular boards I am abo...

Re: Wooden laser-cut Depot

I've modelled three of the depot windows as fully open, Koos.

What you are looking at is styrene strapping on the inside, which is supporting the attachment of the double doors of the freight part of the building. You can't see that from the outside when the roof is on.

Wooden laser-cut Depot

I spent this evening making a start on something I've never attempted before - commencing work on a laser-cut kit of an American Model Builders' Southern Pacific Type 23 depot, viz: http://www.modeltrainstuff.com/American-Model-Builders-HO-150-Southern-Pacific-Co-p/amb-150.htm I've had two of them, ...

I order them on-line, but wear a dress whilst doing so. My heels are presently killing me.

Re: Matching Freight Cars to Industries

Quite frankly, Mike, I'd leave it free, without any industry at all, and use it to store cars that need to be switched but can't be placed immediately, or for loads that have been swapped for empties. Make it look a bit overgrown, but still useable. It looks as if you've got more than enough to keep...

Re: NS latest Honoring Veterians

Hmmm. In my personal opinion, it looks far too much like one of the made-up dreadful paint schemes you see on those nonsensical HO-scale "Baseball team" trainsets, you know the type: cheapo F7 loco, two boxcars and a caboose, all wrapped in swirly team colors (sic). I really hope this coun...
