Re: Interested in Layout Design?

Mulling has ceased. I now have the base-boards for an N-scale layout with an 8' by 3' footprint. I just have to decide on the optimum height above groundlevel for it and justify a Kodachrome SD45 and GP9 on a Northern New England-inspired layout :?

Re: MoW crane

That's a nice model and, as you say, a quick one to assemble. I'll have to look again at my Walthers MoW inventory and put a decent EsPee MoW set together and put a flare at the front end of it. Re: Interested in Layout Design?

I'm also interested. I'm working on a servicing facility in the loftspace, with the blessing of the controller of thought, word, deed and finance, and am mulling over an N-scale on a 6' by 4' board.

Re: Great Model Railroads - John Signor's Southern Californi

I like Mr. Signor's writings for their accuracy but his grasp of locomotive eras is slightly out-of-kilter: EsPee didn't take delivery of their first SD45 until August 1966 and there were no tunnel motors on the property until 1972. Still, modeller's licences are useful things to have and invoke. I ...

Re: What did it for you?

Buying a Blue Box SD45 in EsPee speed lettering started it off, and a ski trip to Maine that I wrote about for a mid-1990s edition of "Roundhouse" led to my Maine Central interest (and on-screen "handle"). That said I seem to have an eclectic collection of motive power: DRGW, BAR...
