Re: 10th Nov 2012 - Freemo meet, Broadclyst

Hi John, yep unfortunate this one, it clashes with something at Bearwood also I think - yes we're planning to do this kind of thing regularly (a couple of times a year maybe) but no set dates as yet.

Nov Trains mag

The November Trains mag (just picked one up from my local Smiths) is all about 'How Railroads Work' - with several articles related to things that might help with ops - the info is fairly generalised but not a bad primer...

RS Tower

I'm part of the crew for RS Tower, which is a 27'x11' exhibition layout - we were at Peterborough during the convention weekend and Andy Gautrey helped us out as an operator - he also provided this great reefer block... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0n-VapRqpc The concept is a midwestern town wher...

Hi Brian - will do. From memory there was a pair of DRGW cement hoppers, the acid tank car and a couple of reefers...will sort you a list.

Re: Short UP Auto Train

I tend to also follow Brian's way of thinking - it's too easy to end up with a pastiche instead of something that looks like the real thing. I was 'mentored' (for want of a better word) in railway modelling on a layout called New Annington, UK, 00, and strictly modern (+/- 2 year rule) - we had a ru...

Re: Short UP Auto Train

Hi Brian, for some reason the short Youtu.be links don't work right in the tags I set up, you need to use the full length link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v1rp9ZjhhW0 (click on options under the link on the youtube site and there's a tickbox for the long link) If I can find a way to change that (...

Image test topic

Linking images through may be a little tricky at first, but once you learn how to do it it'll become second nature! However it's complicated slightly by all the various photo sites having slightly different methods of presenting the code you want... First up, take a look at the instruction thread htt...

Re: Deadwood City Railroad - HO

No probs Brian, just trying to spread the message. ;)

Pics from external sites like that don't affect our server load, it goes on Photobucket's - but if you'll be deleting them that's an issue as eventually you'll have threads with the dreaded 'red Xs'

Re: Suggestion box

Presume that's got the post order one sorted? I've looked into the link one and it requires some code change, I think it's a good idea and I'll discuss it with Peter and we'll see what I can do. Looks great Brian - excellent photo's too. :) Did you know you can use photo's from your photobucket site here just by pasting in the img tag code next to them? http://i780.photobucket.com/albums/yy86/santafe1958/Deadwood%20City%20Railroad/DSCF0463.jpg Or there's a clickable thumbnail version... htt...
