As big a speaker as possible, rectangular, with bass-reflex.

As long as it's compatible with the decoder (8 ohm?) then the world's your oyster.

I cut away some of the seating to, as Brian suggests, accomodate as large a speaker as possible, and drilled through the (thick) chassis as per my video. A rectangular, fully enclosed 58mm x 22mm, 8 ohm bass enhanced speaker will do the job nicely and doesn't really notice. Think I purchased mine from DCC Supplies, but most of the larger DCC outlets will stock it.
