We hope this will prove useful to modellers after the event.
We hope to now make this an annual event, due to popular re- quest. We don’t yet know if there will be a cricket match in the afternoon!
Mr. Milby’s Meet...
Derek Milby contacted us to advise that he will hold his usual weekend at the Lakes this year - date to be confirmed, but it will be around late July - early August, and based at Ulverston.
A likely itinerary includes a ride on the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Rwy. (for which participants pay), a choice of vintage or modern coach to Ribblehead for meal-stop and view viaduct. Then option of S&C train or coach to Appleby. (Train riders pay). Both options go via Ais Gyll summit. Time to look around Appleby. Back to Haverthwaite for meal.
Private train on L&HR, hopefully hauled by very special motive power! Then on for evening social.
If the weekend coincides with the Cumbria Steam Gathering, we will go there instead of to the S&C.
All coach travel, and the special train on L&HR, free.
If you would like to take part, and have not done so before, send S.A.E. to Derek. Details will be sent to you as soon as known. If you are a regular, Derek will be in contact anyway. Derek is at 10 Sun Street, Ulverston, Cumbria LA12 7BX.
