Southern Pacific Color Guide to Freight and Passenger Equipment, Vol. 1
By Anthony W. Thompson.

Southern Pacific books are few and far between these days, so that any SP fan
will give almost anything for a new book on this now ‘fallen flag’, and will not be disappointed with this latest offering from Morning Sun.
Profusely illustrated with photos from SP’s official collection taken between the mid 1950’s and the early 1980’s, the eleven chapters cover: the 1955 Centennial, Box Cars, Reefers, Gondolas, Intermodal, Hoppers, Tank Cars, Cabooses, Passenger Cars, Trucks, and Miscellaneous Vehicles. The range is so
diverse that there is something in this book to give any SP modeller food for thought for his next modelling project. I am sure I even saw a prototypical version of my ‘SP/Frisco Transfer’ facility in this book!
Even though it will be available in the UK, I personally found it cheaper to buy direct from the publisher, rather than pay the excessive mark-up imposed upon us by one or two chains of British booksellers.
   Summer in the Garden!
Relax with a good book. We’ve got these on our shelves at present - just call to order and wait for a sunny day.
