Winter Meet @ Ross On Wye
It Is With Astonishment That I Have To Report To The Membership, That M.G. Sharp Models Have Not Been Invited (Along With Other Northern Traders). Mr Rodney Welch & Some Of The Cyder Belt Members Has Taken To Playing “God” With, Who Can And Who Can’t Be Invited To NMRA Meetings. The BOD Said At The AGM “That They Would Not Be Drawn On The Matter At The AGM, But They Were Taking The Matter On-Board And Would Resolve The Matter”.... It Will Not Surprise Many Of You To Read That As Of Today 3/12/01, We Have Heard Nothing. Are We Looking To Split The BR NMRA Away From The States, And Then Into A Northern & Southern Region??? Seems Like It To Me, As Many Of You Will Understand M.G. Sharp Models Is Far From Happy About The Situation, Especially When Someone Like Mr Welch Can “Play Around” With What Is Our Livelihood... After All, We Don’t Play At This “Hobby”.
What Is A Bigger Issue Is The Comment’s In The Last Roundhouse Is That Mr Welch Has The Right To “Vet” Who Can & Can’t Have A Bring And Buy Table (With 200+ Sounds Like A “Swap Meet” To Me!!!), As A Member Of The NMRA I Should Be Entitled To Have A Table... But Not So; According To Mr Welch.
I Would Ask Members To Boycott This Meeting (After All There Won’t Be anything Worth Buying Without Ourselves Being There), And Take The Matter Up With Mr Welch, The Cyder Belt Committee And The Members Of The BOD.
We Look Forward To Seeing Some Of You At The Derby Show Next Year...

Just as I had finished my series on gas stations JL Innovative Design decided to issue a new kit released at the Convention held this year in St Louis.
Over 3500 independent Gilmore Stations dotted the USA from the 1920’s to the 1940’s and were among the cleanest and most modern of any company. Gilmore was heavily involved in racing - promoting, advertising and sponsoring cars, boats, motorcycles and airplanes that broke over 500 racing records. Gilmore raced at many regional and local speedway tracks as well as the Indy 500 from 1933-1941. In 1937, Wilbur Shaw won his first Indy 500 driving the Shaw-Gilmore Lion Special, a Shaw-
