  Tom Winlow says . . .
I have discovered an outfit in the UK that sells the original Floquil solvent-based model paints. They stock the various sol- vents, varnishes and weathering colours, together with a number of basic model colours such as boxcar red, reefer orange etc. Railroad-specific colours are only held as stock items where these would be useful to modellers of British prototypes (one or two specific greys etc). Any other colour may be ordered as a ‘special-order’ item but this may take up to three months as Floquil orders are slow. Also special orders are subject to minimum of six bottles which may make this approach of more interest to a group of modellers of a specific road. For more information visit www.metalsmith.co.uk. MetalSmith Ltd, Enterprise Close, Telford Way Industrial Estate, Kettering NN16 8NS; phone 01536 410536.
Please note . . .
. . . change of date for Red Dragons May meeting, from 13th to 20th. That day will be an All-American Open Day to celebrate BR’s 60th at the usual venue (apologies for clash with Black Diamonds Spring Meet, but there was no other date possible). See What’s On. Red Dragon division members are requested to contact Norman Carey on 029 2056 4505 to offer help as volunteers for the open day.

Correction
Re West Sussex North American group item in the last Roundhouse, the telephone number for the secretary had a digit missing; it should be area code 01903.
Chris Hobbs writes with reference to 60th Anniversary Celebrations
Red Dragon and Black Diamonds Divisions have been in contact and are planning special events this year, which the BOD will be pleased to support (for details see Roundhouse this issue and next).
Other ideas and requests still very welcome. Please telephone Chris in the first place on 01909 562285.

. . . of Worcester has for disposal ‘Trains’ magazines (back to the 1950s), ‘Model Railroader’ (back to the 1960s) and NMRA ‘Bulletins’ (back to the 1970s) mostly in complete years, also ‘Central Headlight’ and ‘NKP’. All these are FREE to whoever will collect them. The only proviso is that they have to all be taken in one job lot! Anyone interested please contact Rod Welch on 01452 830952 between 6.30 pm and 10 pm.

. . . regrets the apparent absence of TT from the US scene. He feels that it is an ideal scale for those for whom N is too small, but possibly they don’t have the space for a reasonable HO layout. He asks how other members view this? Do you think there is a market for TT if it were resurrected in US outline?
Nominations . . .
. . . are being sought for the rest of the 2005–2006 term for Secretary (Steve Parks is stepping down as Secretary) and for the new post of Membership Director. In this new post, in addition to the usual BOD member’s duties (attend BOD meetings, promote the good running of the Region etc), the Membership Director will have an overseeing role of ensuring that all elements of the membership enrolment and renewals process, including NMRA HQ liaison and financial records, proceed smoothly. He/she will be required to be on-line (as are all BOD members these days).
To minimise members’ potential time and postage in returning ballot forms, nominations are also being sought now for the 2006–2007 term for all five BOD posts of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Membership Director. (Nobby will be standing down as President at the AGM.)
Nominations should indicate the name of the nominee and the position nominated for, and should be signed by the nominee, the proposer and seconder. All three persons should be current members of the NMRA and British Region.
Nominations should be received by the Ballot Chairman, Rai Fenton at 43 Essex Road, Chingford, London E4 6DG, by April 15. If more than one nomination is received for a post, a postal ballot will be held in June of all Region members.
Any queries, or to obtain nomination forms, please contact Rai on 020 8529 7307 or via e-mail at rjfen@raisig.demon. co.uk.
