NMRA British Region Annual Convention
REGION CONVENTION 2007 – THE EAST ANGLIA ZEPHYR
At the Elizabeth Hotel, Copdock, Near Ipswich, Suffolk
Friday 26 October–Sunday 28 October 2007
We bring you an update on the planned events for this year’s Convention. All single rooms are now fully booked.
Train Show (in the Elizabeth Suite)
Opening times: Friday 26th 3.00 pm–6.30 pm (members and
their guests only); Saturday 27th 9.30 am–4.00 pm (all welcome); Sunday 28th 9.30 am–2.30 pm (members and their guests only).
Layouts booked include: Thamesiders 30' × 10' HO modular layout (Lenz DCC); Devil’s Creek in HO by Vanessa Howells & Mike Rimes; Finnsburg 36th Street in HO by Richard Ward; Alice Street (ATSF) in HO by Alain Kap; Rock Ridge in O by Chris White; Mysterioso 2 by Ken O’Shea in On30; California Surf Line in N by Ian Lampkin (its last showing); Clinton’s Bend in N by local club Ipswich RMA.
Railroad Prototype Modellers (RPM) tables also.
Traders booked include: LSWR Models; MG Sharp; Big John’s Trains; SiSt Trees; SPV; N Scale Kits (re­launching the former Alan Curtis range of N scale kits); Neal’s N­gauging Trains; Wilf Parkington Books. Still chasing others.
Bring & Buy Room – Friday and Saturday only, tables may be pre­booked at £5 each with Tony Dunbar on 01992 465625. There will also be a ‘members’ sales’ table manned by Thamesiders where members with ‘smaller than tableload’ items can leave their items for sale for a 10% commission.

Competition – Saturday only; please obtain the necessary forms from Terry Wynne (tel. 01270 567050, email contestchairman@ nmrabr.org.uk) and provide an insurance value if not covered under member’s own policy.
Non-rail events – All weekend there will be a room for in­house events including demonstrations by Sue Wynne on card­making, plus the hotel’s leisure facilities, local walks, two half­day coach trips on the Saturday to local attractions/sights/shopping plus self­guided driving tours to many other local attractions – it is Constable Country after all. A briefing on local attractions will be given at 8.00 pm on Friday 26th. Social activities – there will be an informal dinner on Friday 26th for hotel guests and the traditional gala dinner and awards will be held on Saturday 27th.
The AGM – this will be held at 4.30 pm prompt on Saturday 27 October 2007 in the Constable Room, to allow day visitor members to attend.
