 OBITUARY
Brian Scoulding 1934–2007
it is with sadness that i have to report the loss in November of brian Scoulding of penarth, Vale of Glamorgan. as some of you will know, brian was diagnosed with motor Neurone Disease shortly after the Kegworth convention in 2006. His health and mobility declined progressively over the following 12 months, as is the nature of the disease, but he remained mentally alert and determined to enjoy the time he had left with his family and friends. His particular sense of humour (honed by listening to The Goon Shows and round the Horne on the wireless) never left him.
brian’s working life was spent on the railways, and during his retirement he was an active member of both barry & penarth model railway club and red Dragon railroaders. His family connections with canada resulted in frequent trips, which fostered his interest
in North american and canadian railroading. He built and exhibited numerous layouts depicting both british and North american settings in N, 7 mm Narrow Gauge, HO and OO, and was well known on the local exhibition circuit.
i’m sure anybody who knew brian will want to join me in sending our sincere condolences to his wife barbara and the rest of his family.
