 Below: This locomotive was built in 1929 by the Heisler Locomotive Works, Erie, Pennsylvania, for the Bostonia Coal and Clay Products Company of New Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and was originally #20. Now #6, this is a standard class C-90, three-truck Heisler acquired by Cass Scenic Railroad from the Meadow River Lumber Company of Rainelle, West Virginia in 1968. This locomotive has been used on off-line trips because of its greater speed

 Right: This loco was built by Lima for the Greenbrier and Elk River Railroad in November 1905. This C-80 Shay has been struggling up Cheat Mountain for more than 100 years, making it one of the oldest engines in continuous service on its original line and the second-oldest Shay in existence. It entered service on Cass Scenic Railroad in 1966

Below: This Shay loco was originally #5 and began service at Birch Valley Lumber Company, Tioga, West Virginia in 1922. The Mower Lumber Company at Cass acquired the loco in 1943 and renumbered it #4.
