Left: Trackside view at Mission City, 41.7 miles from Vancouver, 2839.5 miles from Montreal, CPR 1909 vintage building – a National Heritage site before it was burnt down by children playing with fireworks! Although “The Canadian” was operated by VIA the time board still says “Canadian Pacific Railway” and both No. 1 from Montreal and No. 2 from Vancouver were “on time” that day. In spite of modern signalling and CTC, it had manual signals for train orders.
