President’s Car...
John Spratley
Having just returned from attending the simply excellent “Not the Winter Meet” meet at Benson, I have to congratulate Robin, Mike and the guys for putting on such a great event, and at such short notice. If you couldn`t make it you really missed a treat! Even the weather was great, if a little warm!
We held a somewhat short, but productive, BoD and appointed officers meeting, and my thanks to all of you who attended (some from a considerable distance, eh Les!).
A number of subjects were covered, and the BoD undertook to look into the concerns raised, and report back with its findings. Tom Winlow also informed us that, after 15 years of compiling and producing the region Directory, he wants to give it up! Therefore, the region is now seeking applications for this position! Anyone who is interested, should inform me by email, and also know that Tom has
offered to assist his successor in the first year. I know the Region will join me in expressing our sincere THANKS to Tom Winlow, for the sheer hard work, effort and expertise he has put in to make the Directory the success it is!
Mike Hughes has also decided to stand down as Publicity Officer, and is also to be sincerely thanked for the hard work he has put in to the office since he took it on. Therefore the region is looking for applicants for this office too – please contact Robin Swan if you are interested. Both these positions will require a fair amount of time and effort from the successful candidates, but I do hope we can find willing volunteers from our approx. 700 members.
By the way, if you have forgotten to renew please contact John Firth, as it may not be too late to do so.
Enjoy the summer, and look forward to the 65th anniversary Convention,
and all the other forthcoming events on the region calendar, and please support them.
