Pike Register
We would like to see if there is any interest in forming a new pike register. If you currently have a portable layout that you would like to exhibit occasionally, please could you send details either to the Roundhouse editor or webmaster Peter.
One idea is that such a register should be kept on the Region website for easy updating, as layouts change, come and go!
On our holiday in Florida and Georgia this year, we noticed a considerable reduction in traffic. I was informed this was due to the turndown in business, recession etc. In this issue of Roundhouse, this comment is the only item for Uncoupled Cars – not many cars around? Business is bad! Only the members can correct this so please
send any news, views, articles large and small.
Also, the next issue due is our 65th anniversary special, so historic material relating to British Region would be very welcome. Deadline 24 August.

 Scale gauges
The price of the NMRA Standards Gauges has had to be increased due to the increasing cost of the items themselves and the ever spiralling US Postal charges. My predecessor and I have been able to keep the price at £3.50 for at least the past decade and a half but the inevitable has happened. The HO, N and HOn3 Standards Gauges are now priced at £4.50. However, some old stock remains of the other gauges and they will remain at £3.50 until all sold out.

Call for Nominations for all BOD posts
Nominations are being sought now for the 2010–2011 term for all five British Region BOD posts of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Membership Director. This is the usual annual call for nominations, mandated by our Constitution, irrespective of whether the incumbents intend to continue in their posts or not.
Nominations should indicate the name of the nominee and the position nominated for, and should be signed by the nominee, the proposer and seconder. All three persons should be current members of the NMRA and British Region. Nominations should be received by the Ballot Chairman Rai Fenton at 43 Essex Road, Chingford, London E4 6DG, by 1 August. If more than one nomination is received for a post, a postal ballot will be held in October of all Region members.
Any queries, or to obtain nomination forms, please contact Rai on 020 8529 7307 or via e-mail at rjfen@raisig.demon.co.uk.
