  REGIONCALENDAR
NMRA British Region:
the 2012 winter meet
will be held on Saturday 14 January 2012 at the Benson Village Hall.
Dealers and those setting up layouts will have access from 08:00 and the meet will run from 10:00 until 16:00.
Benson is approximately 9 miles south of Oxford on the Oxford–Reading road A4074. As you approach the village from the north turn left by the ‘BP’ fuel stop onto the A4009 Watlington road. The hall is second on the left as you pass through the village. There is ample parking at the venue.
At the time of writing there is a bus route that stops near the petrol station. It is the X39/X40 Reading to Oxford bus. The times are (as at October 2011): 05 and 30 minutes past the hour from Reading Station and 15 and 45 past the hour from St Aldates in Oxford. We will update the NMRA website nearer the time of the Winter Meet.
Our friendly and eager dealers will be there, including Americantrains.co.uk (N gauge), Garden Railway Centres (new and secondhand etc), Brian White (his bits and bobs), LSWR (HO & N + books), Page Components (tools etc), Railroad Trading (HO & N + books), Richard Maxwell (brass locos), Ted Smale (Digitrax) and SPV (DVDs and books) and a secondhand book dealer.
There will be about seven American layouts in O, HO and N scales (Snake Bend meets Ted Humber’s N modular layout) and hopefully one in S scale. There will be an HO American street car layout from Mike Carter. There will also be a fantastic 2 mm scale narrow gauge layout based on a French prototype.
The BR library will be available throughout the day and Marie’s Kitchen (otherwise known as Mrs Ingham) will provide her famous selection of hot and cold filled rolls and hot dogs, hot and cold drinks and biscuits – served in the dining area.
There will also be a number of bring and buy tables.
Further details and directions can be had from Robin Swan at 0118 979 2448, Phil Morris at 0136 771 0285 or Michael Ingham at 0118 987 2707.
We look forward to seeing you all.

dwindled to nothing, and he has there fore decided not to continue with them, but this could change if there were a significant resurgence of inter est.
The Claverton Modular Club also has experienced a large fall in attendances, despite concerted efforts to improve the way the meets are organised. Even the installation of an electric hoist to aid in getting the layouts in and out of our loft storage at the hall, has not made any significant difference, nor has the addition of an NTrak layout,
for those who are more interested in that scale.
The small hard core of active members soldier on, but are becoming increas ingly pessimistic about seeing any re newal of support, and it is likely that, if such support does not materialise, the club will be wound up in the new year. If there is anyone in the greater Bristol/Bath area who would like to take part in running the club’s HO and N modular layouts on the third Sunday of the month, please contact me.

. . . discovered a fascinating (British) website called http://paperbrick.co.uk. It enables you to browse through many types of brick wall styles and then print off your own brick paper. You choose every aspect of the style, eg bond, colour, mortar colour, the scale you work in and the size of paper you want to print on. The site generates a pdf that you then print
off, as many sheets as YARD you want, for free. LIMIT
