MORE CARS from PAUL DOGGETT
Sunshine SP B50-12A rebuilt USRA boxcar. Note the unusual Murphy end - 5/4/5/3 instead of the usual 5/5/5 or 7/8. The decals are from 5 different sheets! The SP B50-12A were the first with 10ft. 6in. internal height SP cars as far as I can make out. All previous cars were 10 ft. internal height

Two Intermountain SP F70-7 flat cars that cost me £10.00 each and were painted and decalled for CNJ. I removed the decals, repaired 4 steps, added brass brake wheels, brake rods and new air lines. I then painted them using Trucolor SP Freight Car Brown and decalled them using the superb Speedwitch SP F70-6/7 decals. They were lightly weathered using powders. These Intermountain cars are accurate SP F70-7 flat cars.
This is an unusual car - a Sunshine kit of a of 10'6" rebuilt steel boxcar with a 2,5,5,6 indented Murphy B end. The A end was an opening end with Youngstown doors which were higher than the roof line; the sides had 7' foot doors. The car was used in auto/ tractor parts service. When the NKP took over, the W&LE were short of cars so the NKP loaned them some boxcars. W&LE just painted out the numbers, replacing
them with numbers in the W&LE series.
