This roundhouse of most unusual, if not unique, form was built at the Northern Pacific terminal at Missoula, Montana in 1883. The five sheds from the right apparently contain two tracks each providing ten stalls while the two buildings at the left probably contain shop equipment. The tents and cabins in the foreground possibly provide living quarters for railroad employees. This and many other fascinating photos are to be found in the book
"Pacific Slope Railroads" by George B. Abdill.
