It’s worth looking at some UK diecast models in 1/43rd scale as British vehicles were often smaller than their American equivalents they don‘t look out of place though they may need new paint/markings if they are commercial vehicles.
British scenic accessories can work well, a crate is a crate is a crate, an oil drum is an oil drum, a sack is a sack, a pipe is a pipe, a plank is a plank, a barrel a barrel. But, for example, a British milk churn or rubbish bin won’t be right for use as an American milk churn or trash can. Don’t be too focused on scale either, a large OO cable drum is a medium or small On30 drum, just fill in or re-scribe the planked drum sides. The military modellers have lots of 1/48th scale stuff that does for freight car loads, truck loads or warehouse/freight yard contents.

The following is a selection of photographs taken of the New Sumach Grove layout as on display at a Bearwood Meet for a shakedown for the revised and shortened layout. As a consequence some of the buildings are not fully seated in the module tops.
