SPRING MEET APRIL 1ST 2017

From 10 am at Crewe Heritage Centre, off Vernon Way, Crewe CW1 2 DB — 1st April 2017
The Calder Northern Group look forward to hosting the NMRA(BR) All Fools Day Spring Meet which will be open to NMRA(BR) Mem-bers and the general public at the Heritage Centre which is open for business on the day. For members interest we are expecting some 15 model Layouts to be on display including those in HO, N scale and OO gauges. A couple of layouts are yet to fully confirm attendance but there is at least one reserve layout available.
Traders include Anoraks Anonymous, Mech Models, Sunningwell CC, Linda Tinker Books, Amberley Services, Richard Maxwell (brass locos), Jonathon Clay (Railway Artist), plus demonstrations of modelling skills. Bring and Buy tables will be available and potentially placed in the APT Train—tables £5 each—contact Tony Gath (anthonygath@btinternet.com) to reserve.
Opening times for the event are 10:00am to 17:00pm with entry costs—£5 for NMRA(BR) members. General public entry is £7 per adult, children under 14 years (£3), children under 5 go free. No senior discounts unfortunately.
We are expecting to run a free “Routemaster Bus” which will operate between Crewe Railway Station and the Heritage Centre (more info to come as we get closer to the date).
The Heritage Centre 7.25” miniature railway will be operating offering free rides.
Refreshments will be available in the North Junction Signal Box plus a catering facility for hot food. Toilets are located near the exhi-bition Hall and in the North Junction Signal Box.
Other Heritage Centre attractions include —Advanced Passenger Train (APT-P), BR Class 47 & 37 locos, Exeter West Signal Box (signal box demonstrations by members of the Exeter Signal Box Group) plus two other Signal Boxes, the Heritage Centres OO and N Gauge layouts will also be running noting these are focused mainly for younger children’s interest. The NMRA stand will be at the London Festival of Modelling 25th and 26th March 2017 at Alexandra Palace, London. It is hoped we will be near to NMRA affiliated Thamesiders group who will be exhibiting their modular layout.
Volunteers are needed to help man the stand. Please contact marketing@nmrabr.org.uk If replying between 13th Jan. and 15th Feb. I will be Australia so will respond when I return.
