A computer E-group forum called nscaleuk. who can be found at www.nsclaeuk@yahoogroups.com are putting on this Modellers’ Meet and Railroad Show featuring 7 top traders and over 11 layouts (5 with DCC and 2 of those with onboard sound!!). As far as is know this could be the biggest (if not the first) totally N-scale North American and Canadian show held in the UK.
Traders booked are as follows:
LSWR, Tony’s Trains, Steam Powered Video, Squires Tools, Alan Curtis Models, Penhaven Model Products and Sunningwell SCC (Digitrax).
The show is a non-profit venture, and all the costs are coming out of the members’ pockets hopefully to be recouped on the day (traders are not being charged to attend). Any surplus will go to the local hospital children’s ward.
The group is trying to hold a ‘serious’ modellers’ show, with lots of Q+A, plus the opportunity to go back stage (where safe and secure) to view behind the scenes, plus operate some layouts. There is even a hands on weathering demo, and DCC chip fitting demonstration for the inquisitive. Layouts will have the minimum of barriers, and the public will be encouraged to ask questions and get involved if they wish.
Some of the 11 layouts booked include:
Constance USA (DCC+ On board sound); Radstock Falls; Hooton Hollow; Dale Junction; Cougar Rock; Rio Rocca (DCC); There are invites out for 5 more, so the total should be 15-16 layouts.
